About Jasmine

I’m Jasmine Fellows, a leading Australian science editor and journalist. Over the last 20 years, I’ve helped shape magazines, books and digital publications that inspire curiosity in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).

I’m Managing Editor at Refraction Media, where I lead editorial strategy for Careers with STEM and Australian University Science magazines. I also host events and webinars, including work with Dr Karl for the NSW Department of Education.

Alongside my editorial work, I’m undertaking a PhD through the Australian National University’s Centre for the Public Awareness of Science, researching what Australia’s science media needs to thrive into the future.

Previously, I was an editor at CSIRO’s Cosmos and Double Helix magazines. I hold undergraduate degrees in genetics and history of science, as well as postgraduate qualifications in writing, editing, marketing and management. This combination allows me to work confidently across both the journalistic and commercial realities of modern media.

I am a member of the Australian Science Communicators and the Science Journalists Association of Australia.

My work has been recognised as a finalist for Mumbrella Publish’s Editor of the Year in 2025 and the CSIRO Chief Executive Professional Development Award in 2023 for contributions to youth STEM publishing in Australia.
